Ōshio is the Japanese word for the strongest tide of the month, when the sun and moon pull in the same direction and the water rises everywhere at once.
That's how we see AI. It isn't a wave a few businesses catch. It's a tide that lifts or strands every business in the harbor. Our job is to help you read it, pick your moment, and move with it.

Founder & Principal
John Todor has spent more than 30 years helping organizations turn technology into measurable business results. He started his career in the early ’90s on a corporate digital transformation team, and has led the way through every major shift since: the early web, mobile, and now AI. He has built digital programs for brands like American Express, Disney, Procter & Gamble, and the U.S. Air Force. He also led Dell’s digital efforts aimed at small businesses. He has run small companies himself, and knows what it costs a growing business to get a technology decision wrong.
John has been working with AI since 2015, years before LLMs made headlines. As a founding executive at Hypergiant, an AI services company, he owned the P&L and helped scale it from fewer than 10 employees to 220, with revenue reaching $43 million in three years. Hypergiant delivered AI solutions for Shell, ExxonMobil, Schlumberger and the federal government. Prior to that, John grew Chaotic Moon from $15 million to $60 million, a run that ended in its acquisition by Accenture, where he led a massive engagement with the State of California. Most recently, he led a $30 million-plus AI consulting portfolio at a global technology services firm.
John founded Oshio AI to bring that experience to the businesses that need it most today and have usually been served least: small and mid-sized companies. AI is a tide that will lift some businesses and strand others, and John’s job is to make sure his clients are the ones it lifts. He starts with how your business actually runs, finds where AI can save time, cut cost, or open up new revenue, and then helps you put it to work. Clients get a senior advisor who has built businesses from the ground up and who treats their success as personal.
